The Mid Ulster Sports Arena (MUSA) is a state of the art outdoor
sports facility designed to meet the requirements of a wide
range of different sports. Opened in May 2004 at a cost of £2.5
million, it is the centre of excellence for sports provision
throughout the wider Mid Ulster Area.
The Mid Ulster Sports Arena is the result of a unique partnership
between Cookstown District Council, the Department of Agriculture
and Rural Development and Cookstown and District Sports Forum.
Funding for the project was received from the Sports Council
Northern Ireland Lottery Unit and the Special EU Programmes
Body through the Cookstown Local Strategy Partnership.
Located just one mile from Cookstown on the Tullywiggan Road,
MUSA has the most advanced synthetic turf surface in Northern
Ireland, and is both FIFA and UEFA approved. In addition there
are 5 sand mattress grass pitches, an endurance area incorporating
a multi use games area suitable for a wide range of sports,
a strength and conditioning room and a sports pavilion with
eight team changing rooms, a 1400m trim trail, administration
offices, committee room and catering facilities.
As the only venue of its kind in the region, the Mid Ulster
Sports Arena is a key contributor towards sports development
and sporting excellence and sets the standard for sporting
facilities within Northern Ireland.

This is a Cookstown District Council Facility.
