The aim of the 5 Star Sports Challenge is to contribute to the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games by increasing children's awareness and understanding of disability and to inspire more children to become active and involved in sport. And of course, to be lots of fun to do on the day!
Children will have the opportunity to complete a circuit of 5 sports challenges, each based on Olympic and Paralympic sports. Each sport challenge is designed to give children a better understanding of disability sport and the abilities of people with disabilities, and will be challenging but achievable to ensure that all children have a positive and enjoyable experience. The free family fun day promises to be fun for all the family with lots of other activities, games and entertainment happening including a performance from BBC’s The Voice contestant, Sophie Griffin, and a Lantern Procession as Cookstown welcomes the Paralympic Flame.
